The power of music, performance, creativity, personal growth, and belonging are harnessed together to make an incredible difference in your child's life. In this holistic music education program, your child builds their skills sequentially from pre-k through 12th grade, with each year laying a solid foundation for the next. Our carefully crafted program gives your child the tools to develop into a musician who fully expresses themselves creatively, all while thriving in a community of like-minded players. Weekly Private Lesson Length: 60-min Private Lesson in their band instrument

foundation 1: Solo + Group Musicianship

Innovators study the most unique and compelling musical artists of the last 100 years for serious inspiration.

  • Private Instruction: Your Innovator continues their technical development in weekly 60 minute private lessons with the intention of building a skill set that maximizes their opportunities for creative expression, both as a soloist and in their band.

  • Group Class: In their 75-minute weekly group experience, Innovators take songwriting and arranging to the full extent of their abilities by making every song a clear, artistic statement. They learn basic music production techniques to support this.

foundation 2: performance + wellness

  • Your Innovator studies what it means to “perform like a pro,” including how to handle auditions, competitions, and making recordings. They learn to produce their own concerts from start to finish, working as a team to make them a success and learning from what they want to do better next time through producing the final graduation concert.

  • Your Innovator will perform 3 times with their band, and, if they choose, as a soloist, in our progressive Student Showcases at the end of every trimester.

  • Innovators, along with the Stage 5 Artists, get their busking permit through the Arts Council’s “Blue Skies” program, and are encouraged to organize for other public performance opportunities.

foundation 3: Personal development

  • Innovators now take what they’ve learned about themselves with the personal growth they’ve achieved and turn it towards others. Innovators work closely with each other to produce their shows, with the seniors teaching the first-year juniors the ropes.

  • Here they forge an artistic vision for their future, finding a way to make meaning and build community with their goals and dreams. Innovators get to know their strengths and weaknesses as they pursue ideas about how they want to show up as leaders.

foundation 4: Artistry + Creativity

  • Innovators continue with their mini solitude retreats which The Artist’s Way calls “Artist Dates.” These times of quiet reflection allow your child to hear their inner voice. It’s essential for them to have time to reflect and go inward to produce creative music and artistic works for others.

  • Your child will put into practice the basic creative principles to discover and trust that they, themselves, are a powerful creator.
